250th POST!!!

but thats not the point.

point is.

i just came back from camp!!!

and it was totally awesome, i swear. so, in a nutshell, the theme was Back to Basics. So we had three theme talks, on the Word, the Spirit, and Faith. Henson Lim was a really good speaker and God really spoke to me through him. i know all this may sound cliche and fake, but i really felt God's presence, esp in the last talk on faith, where there was an alter call and i went up. And, honest, i seriously cried when i was being prayed for.

So bascially, the Word is not just the bible, but is God. for "in the beginning there was God, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Word also means the logic which the world is supposed to operate in. The Word is also Jesus, which is what the bible meant when it says the Word became flesh. And so to receive Jesus Christ, we must receive the word, which means we have to accept a new operating system. And in the Word, we can find Life, in which we can find Light, in which we can get power. In conclusion, the Word has to be received (live it, become it), is a revelation (we must respond to it and change) and is about relationship. (Love)

So next was the spirit. first of all, the Spirit, is also God. and we are also spirits for we were created in God's image. However, when Adam (idiot) sinned, we lost the spiritual connection with God. and this was restored with Jesus, who dint have any power before his baptism, but, after receiving the spirit during his baptism, got power. Also, an important fact is that every spiritual blessing has been given to us, just that it is in the heavenly realm. yet, through Jesus, we have also been raised up, sitting on the right hand side of God. Thus, we have received every spiritual blessing, which is our resource for what we have been tasked to do. (the spiritual gifts like speaking in tongues and fruits of the spirit.) When we combine word and spirit, there is a birthing force that has a spiritual intiative that forces its way into the physical world.

Faith. the first thing he said was how God has faith in himself, so whatever he wants to happen, will. (actually i have no idea whats the point of saying that) also he said that if we combine all three, what we do in the natural world will be released in the spiritual. Faith is a response, submission, obedience. more specifically, faith first precedes obedience, then produces obedience, then prefects obedience. for if we believe God's word, we will obey, and when we see God's work, we will have strengthened faith and thus obey more. and uh Faith is a verb.

so that was pretty much i learnt, but i havent talked about how i felt. well, i think that the talks were very relevant and very new to me. like, i never thought of the Word that way before. and also, i never thought spiritual gifts were relevant in this era, and more or less belonged to the old old old times. Moreover, i never knew it was so important to be of the Word the Spirit and Faith. i mean, honestly i was never much of any. in fact was a pretty lousy christian. and i have tried, trust me, i have. but i never thought much of it, like i mean, i was still a christian right? thats what matters, i believe in God, yay. but after these talks i was humbled and really sad that all this time i havent really been the christian God wants me to be. and now im like even more determined to get my life back on track and to build a real relationship with God.

so now, we have settled the spirituality part. now on to the fun shit in the camp.

basically, we were split into 10 groups. i was group 8, The Spartans. dont ask. better than grp 7, nanatoot or group 9, 九. so anyway my group consisted of Sarah Leong as the leader, me as asst leader, (we opened numbers to choose) Joanna, Jeshua, Andrea, Jowell, Shuan, Jeanette, Kenneth, and Krystal. the last 3 dint come on the first day though. anyway, there were like many different activities and stuff to win points and all. like captains ball which we lost terribly cause we only had 3 guys playing. -.- and it was 4 grps down at once, ffa. we also had games like the longest line and other weird stuff. haha and the second day was the mystery/amazing race thingum with got cancelled due to bad weather, hahah but it was ownage cause we had 3 hours of "washing up". which were spent mainly playing taitee. (code name taichee). the third day was the best: wet games. we own :D hahahha and captains ball/water bomb was freaking funny. we made a pact with the other team. they let us score we let them score. so like we will slowly make our way across and score with the other team not doing anything, or well, pretending to be trying to defend. hahah battleships was damn pointless. only one ship got hit. and the jigsaw thing we pwned! the besstt was the race thingy which every team did at the same time. hahah we won the best girl contest! oh yes and that night was had fear factor. it was really creepy when it was my turn cause like they said we were going to eat worms. they showed us the worms then blindfolded us. but i knew they were going to change it. otherwise they would blindfold us first. but it was still scary! and like they touched all our noses with the real worms. which is really gross. anyway overall our grp was second : D unexpected, much.

the most fun part is our freetime in our rooms. haha at first it was me jensen reuben weehwa and caleb in b1-08 then yi zhong came, so me jensen caleb and yi zhong went to 09 and the rest like switched around between 08 and 07. then like the first night in 08 was really screwed up cause no one dared to sleep on the top bed of the double decker cause the middle beam was bending like shit. and like everyone was creeped out cause i started talking about final destination (actually it was just caleb and jensen who dint even watch the movies). so we joined four beds like:
[][]
[][]

if you know what i mean. so like reuben and wee hwa slept on the first 2, like across the combined widths of the bed. and we jensen and caleb on the other 2 in some weird, sprawled out pattern. and we even had force fields, aka blankets and barriers aka pillows.

we took out the ladder of the double decker.

anyway in 09 was damn fun. we started with like pillow fight. i accidentally punched caleb in the eye. ANYWAY.

soon we noticed some gods prayer ward thing on the back of the door.

we ran out of the room and got caleb ho to bless the room. and later jensen prayed for us and the room again. yeah i know, what the heck

we arranged the beds in the same way and totally moved around everything. srsly, our room was freaking messy. first night: played taitee till 2am, then yi zhong freaked us out and 4 of us went to bed on two beds. and talked crap and gossiped. bitches, right.

anyway second night we ate chips drank milo ate crackers drank green tea and ice lemon tea and played taitee till 3.20 then jensen got freaked out cause 3.30 was the satanic time. so we went to sleep.

the food was gross.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GUAN RONG !!! :D

Monday, December 03, 2007 . 21:44

ok im still feeling the post-22km-round-ubin-marathon effects. which include severe sleepiness. which is currently my biggest problem.

im ready to fall asleep on my laptop right this minute.

but i wont. cause i havent posted finish.

so um heres what the organisers thought the marathon would be like, taken from http://cms.pa.gov.sg/paWeb/common/events_popup.jsp?id=5790 :

"

Watersports enthusiasts have much to rejoice for come 2nd December this year when the Round Ubin Kayak Race 2007 takes participants round the beautiful northern islands of Singapore.

This exciting paddle racing sport challenges participants’ endurance, speed, stamina and paddling skills in the open sea. In approximately 22 km, they will pit their paddling skills and race strategies against one another from the bustling Pasir Ris Beach to the southern side of Pulau Ubin. They will also pass by Tajam as they paddle swiftly round the corner and straight through the Straits of Johor, with the Malaysia state of Johor on one side and the erected fences along northern Ubin on the other side. As they race closer to the finish line, the contestants paddling across Chek Jawa – the spot well-known for its rich marine life – and taking in the sights along the southern shoreline of Pulau Ubin with the scattered kelongs.

The PA Water-Venture and its paddling members hope that this exhilarating event will raise the level of interest for and standard of the sport. Besides enjoying Singapore’s spectacular waterways, the participants will be proud to have completed a race that brings out the best of their physical and mental strengths."

ok first of all. i wasnt rejoicing about the darn marathon.

and secondly. past a certain point. i didnt really care about other paddlers anymore. i was more of focusing the fastest way to paddle without getting plunged into the water.

ok and i have a really big problem with "paddle swiftly round the corner part" personally, and i think many agree with me, that the waves completely and totally screws up your direction. they can turn you faster than you can turn yourself. while turning that corner, the wave made me turn like 45 degrees to the side. wtf.

and screw the damn marine life. and the "sights" for that matter. the only possible time where u can even get the chance of seeing marine life. is when u capsize into the water. and trust me. when waves are fucking with you after you capsize. the only thing you would be worried about is how to get back in. not some exotic crab with stripes on its back or a fish that looks like a rock.

and the sights. ok frankly. i didnt notice any freaking sights. okay? seriously. at chek jawa, i was staring straight ahead, totally freaking out, and muttering the f-word repeatedly.

and screw that shit about raising our interest and the standard and "enjoying singapore's spectacular waterways"

grah damnit.
